Park Circus, Riverside Cycle & Insanity! (August 21)

We’ve been meaning to work out. We really have. But things get in the way! I mean, it’s not everyday that I’m in a foreign city. I need to take advantage of being here! However, since my arrival I have been “taking advantage” of everything here – well all the suggestions and recommendations I’ve received have involved trying food at different cafes and restaurants and bars. And I’ve dragged Fiona along to most of these places. And she has a wedding dress to fit into in December. And I have a beach to get back to in a month. So we decided ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH and WE WORKED OUT! We met up after research, and walked up the hill to see Park Circus – the extremely “posh” area of Glasgow. Just a flat (apartment) was over a million. It was niiiiiice!

As we were walking home………..we passed a really nice Italian restaurant and saw a sign that the menu was £4.95. There was no question. We went in, ordered a big giant (cheap) delicious pizza and caesar salad, and then (IT IS NOT OUR FAULT) it just so happened that the Café Nardini dessert menu was there!!! How were we supposed to know?! Okay, so we practiced slight moderation and got slightly smaller & cheaper sundaes this time.

Then we went home, jumped on bikes, and cycled along the River Clyde to Fiona’s sister Mhari’s house! It was really pretty and I would post pictures, except that I was planning on taking pictures on the bike ride back when it was darker/more lit up…….but……….we got carried away chitchatting and realized we forgot our lights, and got a ride home.

Upon returning home, I whipped out my laptop and we immediately began Insanity. I must include that despite my warnings, Fiona was not nervous for it and was SURE she’d be able to do it twice in a row. Nuuu-uuuhhhh! We were exhausted by the end of it, but decided to do a P90X Ab-RipperX workout because it’s awesome. Let’s just say I had no problems falling asleep!

If I could eat Italian food for the rest of my life...I would.

These sundaes were NOT our fault! ;)
