First of all, sorry if the song is stuck in your head now...
Tonight my research group all went out to dinner together!
We went out to a really good Greek place called Athena. Since there were 7 of
us, we all got a huge sample menu meal and got TONS of food – so many different
things! I tried so much. One of the girls is Greek, so she was able to explain
everything to me – after I tried it, of course. :) Oh, sidenote. In a sense,
Scottish people are smarter than us Americans. Ever thought about the word “entrée?”
Meaning…“entrance?” As in…to the main dish? Yeah, I was so confused when they
were talking about how we were eating the entrée and I freaked out and thought
I should be eating more if that’s all the food we were getting. But no, it was
our American appetizers. How did I never question the whole entrée thing?? Anyway, that's the whole "American idiot" title. :P
Just as dessert arrived, I had to rush out to make a movie
at the cinema (theater…) with Fiona – we were off to see Ted! I saw it about a
month ago and thought nothing of it…well, apparently it takes about a month for
movies to get to Scotland. It was a special preview that night, and it was sold
out! Bummer! So instead, we walked along streets in the pouring rain trying to
get a taxi (& getting splashed instead…), then stopped to get chocolate
before heading home and watching a chick flick on the couch. :)
I'll add pictures of dinner once they get posted on Facebook!
