There’s nothing better on
a rainy day then holing up in a cute little cupcake cafe! I met up with Fiona
after work, and she brought us to a cute little place called Cups. :) They have
tons of cupcakes and cake, tea, coffee, paninis...bascially, tons of yummy
things! I got a double chocolate cupcake – when I got it, there were SPRINKLES
on it! Cheeeck it out...
Fiona had night shift so she had to split to work and I headed home. Or should I say, I started
my battle. When it rains it Scotland, it doesn’t “rain.” It horizontally
demolishes you, while picking you up and carrying you away in the wind. And
destroys your umbrella in the process. And when I arrived home, I was more
drenched than a wet dog. I think I could have stood in the shower for ten
minutes fully clothes and still been more dry than today. My uggs were about
thirty pounds each, completely soaked with water, and had lakes at the bottom
of them. My socks were stained black from my uggs, and my pants were so heavy
they required holding up. Normally, I wouldn’t care about an umbrella. I love
the rain. If I didn’t want my hair wet, I had a rain jacket with a hood. But
ohhhh no, no. My umbrella was quite necessary – because I had a tiny backpack
that my laptop stuck out of. How would you feel in a torrential sidesways
downpour with your laptop?! Yeah, my umbrella was there to protect IT more than
ME from the rain. So anyway, how many times do you think my umbrella flipped?
4. And that was with me getting good at maneuvering it with wind shifts. It was
a battle. Needless to say, I didn’t want to do anything except curl up and
watch a movie when I got home. So that’s what I did. :)
