Today at research, I WAS the research. I was asked to
volunteer to have an EEG as I imagined grabbing a mug – over, and over, and
over, and over – for about 2 hours. So much fun!!! So much fun that I almost
fell asleep. But hey, it helped them out. I got to wear a really attractive EEG
hat with lovely electrodes coming off my head, and the best part but have been
the gel in my hair and on my ears. Needless to say, I showered immediately upon
returning home! Then I packed up and headed out- I had a bus to London to
catch! :) Because it was so last-minute, plane and train tickets were really
expensive so I settled on the bus. It was 8 hours, so I tried the new “sleeper
bus” service and it turned out great! The bus has beds on it, and goes from
about 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. It really was a great experience! I wore some comfy
sweats/pajamas and got to the coach station early. Because we were all there
early, we left ahead of schedule (which meant we arrived at 6 am…). We got on
the bus and the guys we ran it were just great – very nice, welcoming,
informative – and even gave us homemade shortbread! After being offered coffee
and tea, we climbed into our beds. They were small but hey, on a bus I’ll
appreciate anything! The beds had pillows and comforters and a nightlight and
outlet and little window, and a big curtain. I flopped on my stomach and
drifted off to sleep! I had some weird dreams, probably because it wasn’t the
best sleep, but when I woke up we were just getting to London! And the sunrise
was beautiful. :)
