I'm still here! I suppose it's a good thing I haven't posted anything in a week because it means I've been out and about. :)
Here's a little synopsis:
Thursday: On this day, I FINALLY stopped my nonsense and got my lazy bum up off the couch. I'd started a routine of getting home from the Uni, plopping on the couch, and not getting up until I went to bed other than to get food....BAD! A girl I almost lived with here posted a pub & music event on Ashton Lane (Ashton Lane is a really cute little lane...almost an alley...filled with cafes and pubs, right by the Uni). This was 7 pm, and I was already in my PJs. Yes, THAT bad! My flatmate Fiona was working night shift at the hospital, but I decided to man up, figure out how to take the subway to the pub, and meet some people. And it was a success! I figured out the subway, got there and found the place, and had a nice evening/night meeting people and listening to the live music! It was definitely one of those things completely out of my comfort zone - finding my way around a foreign city alone (let alone on public transportation) & showing up to a place where I didn't know anyone. Did it pay off? Yes! :) And once I got home from that, I still got to cozy up in my PJs...win-win!
Friday: After research on Friday, Fiona & I went out to the City Centre for dinner. Her fiance dropped us off and we had dinner at a delicious little Italian place called Sarti's. I ate a whole pizza......yeah, that good. The Olympic Opening Ceremonies began while we were eating, so we got to see that. It was fun to watch there because the restaurant had so many different flags hanging everywhere! From there we went to a good ol' Scottish pub and got drinks while continuing to watch the Opening Ceremonies. It was such a fun environment!! THEN we headed to a Ferry where there was live Scottish music and traditional Scottish Ceilidh dancing! Did I do it? YES I DID! All I have to say is........holy moly there is a lot of spinning! Fiona and I did Strip the Willow...lots of fun! Also, I got to meet up with Tray again - we met on the coming TO Scotland! Fun day. :)
Alright, I know I was going to try to catch you all up now but I have to get into bed. I haven't been sleeping much and I just sneezed about....I'd say about 7 times (and that's not an understatement!). Either I'm really allergic to something or I'm coming down with a cold (eek!). I'll continue later, and add pictures! :)
(You'll understand the Ketchup part soon...)
