This summer I will be boarding the MV Explorer, a ship that will serve as my floating campus, and travel to 8 different countries! While sailing, classes will be in session on the ship and while in port, I will be traveling.
The three classes I will be taking on board through the University of Virginia are Psychology of Learning and Memory, Natural Disasters, and Global Seminars. These classes will be a combination of classroom teaching, Field Directed Practica (class-specific trips while in port), homework, projects, and tests. The classes are rumored to be a lot of work, so I'll have to be on my A-game with time management. I'll definitely need to balance work and travel!

Originally, Alexandria, Egypt was the last and longest stop on the voyage. Unfortunately due to political unrest, Semester at Sea decided it would be best for the voyagers to scrap this destination and add Bulgaria. Although I was really looking forward to Egypt, I understand why the decision was made and am ready to make the most of the new port!
I have never been to Europe, so I am thrilled to finally travel there! As I am unfamiliar with traveling in Europe, I am extremely open to advice and suggestions from those of you who have traveled to any of these countries. In fact, any suggestions would be VERY greatly appreciated!
Although the pre-voyage process is a lot of work, I am confident that it will all pay off and my experience will be far greater than I can even imagine. I have had my heart set on traveling abroad for quite some time, and my time has finally come.
I'm ready to put my sea-legs on and have the experience of a lifetime!
I made this Trip Itinerary - just click the link and it will take you on a quick video journey of the places I'll be visiting! :)
